Forklift Rental in Los Angeles

Family-Owned Forklift Rentals Backed by More Than 30 Years of Combined Experience

At Calgrove Equipment Rentals, we are a family-owned equipment rental yard with more than 30 years of combined industry experience and a modern, well-maintained fleet. Our telescopic handlers reach up to 56 ft. with a 12,000 lb. lift capacity, and our cushion-tire lift trucks handle warehouse and yard work where space is tight. We serve contractors, builders, and property owners across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties from two convenient locations.

We don’t just hand over keys. We talk through your project and match the right machine to the job, whether you’re staging material on a multi-story build, loading flatbeds at a distribution yard, or moving heavy pallets on a commercial renovation. If this is your first time renting heavy equipment, we can walk you through capacity ratings, terrain considerations, and safe operation practices before you leave the yard. Delivery and pickup are available throughout Los Angeles County.

Forklift Rental Cost in Los Angeles

Rental rates for forklifts and telescopic handlers depend on several factors specific to your project. A standard 5,000 lb. cushion-tire lift truck typically costs less per day than a 56 ft. telehandler with a 12,000 lb. lift capacity. Attachments like boom extensions, rotators, or work platforms can also affect your rate depending on the unit.

We offer flexible daily, weekly, and monthly rental terms so you’re not paying for more time than you need. If your project runs longer than expected, switching from a daily to a weekly rate is straightforward. Delivery and pickup logistics are another factor: we provide this service throughout Los Angeles County, and the distance to your jobsite can influence the total cost.

Key factors that influence your forklift rental cost include:

• Machine type (cushion-tire lift truck vs. telescopic handler)
• Lift capacity and maximum lift height
• Rental duration (daily, weekly, or monthly terms)
• Attachments, such as booms, rotators, or work platforms
• Delivery and pickup distance to your jobsite

Because projects differ, we quote each rental individually. A useful starting point is knowing the material you’re moving, its approximate weight, the required lift height, and the surface conditions at your site. Call us at (818) 805-1617 or reach out online with your project details, and we can prepare a quote based on your needs.

Why Contractors in Los Angeles Choose Calgrove Equipment Rentals

A rough-terrain telescopic handler and a cushion-tire lift truck serve different operating environments. We use a consultative, hands-on process to connect equipment specifications with construction, landscaping, warehouse, yard, and industrial applications.

Our team asks what you’re lifting, how high it needs to go, what the terrain looks like, and whether the job calls for pneumatic or cushion tires. That conversation matters because renting the wrong machine wastes time and money. With more than 30 years of combined industry experience, we can evaluate load requirements, lift height, terrain, capacity, and safe operation practices with you.

Our machines are modern and regularly serviced. Our telehandler lineup ranges from the compact JCB 525-60 for tight sites to the JCB 512-56, which delivers 5,000 lbs. at a 56 ft. lift height. For indoor and yard work, the Yale GC050LX handles standard pallet operations with a tight turning radius.

We operate from two rental yards and deliver throughout Los Angeles County and into Ventura County. Our team is available 24/7 to answer equipment questions and provide rental support. We also offer equipment for purchase alongside our rental fleet for recurring material handling needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do My Operators Need Certification to Use a Rented Forklift?

Employers must train and evaluate powered industrial truck operators before allowing them to operate the equipment independently. California Title 8, Section 3668 requires employers to verify each operator’s competence through training and evaluation. This aligns with the federal OSHA standard (29 CFR 1910.178), which describes formal instruction, practical training, and a workplace performance evaluation as required components. Under that standard, operators must be evaluated at least once every three years. The training and evaluation obligation falls on the employer, not the rental company, but our team can discuss safe operation practices during your equipment consultation. For more information, visit our certifications and training resource.

Should I Rent or Buy a Forklift?

Renting is typically the practical choice for one-time projects, seasonal demand spikes, or jobs that require a specific lift capacity you don’t own. Purchasing makes more sense for companies with daily material handling needs that won’t change significantly. We offer equipment for purchase as well as rental, so we can compare project duration, expected use, equipment requirements, and rental terms with you.
